About me…
I am Jacqui Shankly, and I have worked for over 25 years supporting families with young children. I began working in Early Years community music for the charity sector, working with families throughout Staffordshire and the West Midlands. I loved my work, and what fascinated me most was the power of music to stimulate fun, playfulness, conversations and connection between children and their parents and carers. So began a lifetime of interest and research into early childhood development and attachment, culminating in training as a Play Therapist and founding Moonbeams CIC, an organisation dedicated to promoting positive childhood mental health through direct work with children, and support for the adults around them.
My passion and joy is working with the youngest children and the professionals that support them. As I approach retirement, I have had to bring my direct work with children and families to a close (the spirit is willing but the knees can’t take it any more!!). But I bring this dedication and experience to my work as a Clinical Supervisor, Trainer and Author.
My qualifications include:
MA (Distinction) Practice Based Play Therapy (APAC)
BA (Hons) Psychology (Aston University)
Early Years Professional Status (EYPS)
Additional CPD Includes:
Creative Clinical Supervision (PTUK and Creative Counsellors)
Intensive Filial Therapy (APT)
Baby Bonding (Clear Sky)
Heart to Heart (Clear Sky)
Parent Child Attachment Play (Clear Sky)
